All students who participate in the SRW 2008 Research Competition will receive an SRW 2008 T-shirt. The student with the top score in each session will be designated the Session Winner and will receive a personalized plaque. In addition, the students whose presentations were ranked in the top 3 by the judges in each session will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes based on their taxonomy grouping. Ribbon designations will be awarded based on judges scores and evaluations of the criteria defined below.

Taxonomy Level Competition:
The top three ranked students in each session will be grouped by taxonomy according to their scores. Prizes will be weighted based on number of sessions in each taxonomy.

5-6 sessions	9 awards
7-8 sessions	12 awards
9-10 sessions	15 awards

*You will not have to present again to compete at the Taxonomy level.

Session Winner: Received the highest total score in their session
Taxonomy winner: Received the highest total score and ranking (1st, 2nd or 3rd) in their overall taxonomy
All participants are eligible for door prizes given away at various SRW events.

Taxonomy Prizes

1st Place Prize: $300

2nd Place Prize: $150

3rd Place Prize: iPod shuffle

Special Awards

Melbern G. Glasscock Humanities Award

A first place prize of $100 and a second place prize of $50 will be awarded to the top Humanities oral and poster presentations in the undergraduate and graduate competitions.

Interdisciplinary Research Ribbon Recognition

A designation recognizing research with outcomes that make significant academic or practical contributions in more than one field of study.

Environmental Health and Safety Department Safety Recognition Award
A designation recognizing research efforts that contribute to and/or value the role and importance of safety at Texas A&M University.

International Education Week Choice Ribbons

Recognizes research studies that foster an understanding of issues or investigate problems relevant to our globalizing society.

The University Writing Center Outstanding Poster Award
Recognizes posters that exemplify excellent writing and design at the first, second, and third place levels. The recipients of this designation will be asked to permit display of their posters on the University Writing Center Web site.

Student Group Award

The student group with the most volunteer points will receive $500 for its members who volunteer and recognition on the Volunteer Award Plaque.

Research Report Card Program Prizes

All students who participate in the Research Report Card Program will be entered into a drawing every time they reach a new "GPA" level". All students who earn a 4.0 will be entered in a drawing for an iPod Nano!
